Knowing how to suffer well is essential to realizing true happiness.
No Mud, No Lotus is a book written by Thich Nhat Hanh about ways to touch suffering without being overwhelmed by it. I was first introduced to the concept when I commented on a leg tattoo my friend Adrian got of NMNL. Not knowing the meaning behind the acronym, I quickly went to google to find my answer. After some hilarious answers, I found the one with a meaning behind it which represented Adrian’s struggle with lung cancer. Sadly, Adrian passed away recently, but his philosophy of No Mud, No Lotus continues to resonate with all those who were touched by his life. After months of trying to figure out a name for my blog and nothing feeling quite right, I thought it was only fitting to name the blog after the person who inspired my travelling to begin with.
