Stop thinking, stop thinking! Have you ever just kept going over a scenario in your head. Thinking of all the things you should have said. That was me. There were things I could have said about two individuals, but I didn’t. Saying it wouldn’t have taken the hurt away from what he did. He decided to make a choice without the courtesy of speaking with me first – what a coward. Still fresh, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Luckily, I was spending time with my parents and what better way to get your mind off things then to go watch my cousin race at Ohsweken Speedway.
It’s Go Time at the Ohsweken Speedway
The ⅜ mile dirt track, with sprint, stock, and bomber car engines booming in the background make up the Friday night races at Ohsweken Speedway. The grandstand full of locals, racing enthusiasts and of course family members was the perfect setting to watch my cousin take home the win! Free parking on the lawn is available adjacent to the grandstand where your car is guaranteed to be left dusty from the track!
Feeling the rush of excitement as she turned that last corner in the lead. Oh no! A caution flag was raised just as she was about to cross the finish line, back to resetting for that final lap. On the edge of our seats and our nerves at wit’s end, we were biting our nails until she crossed that finish line in first place! Cheering in excitement, we jumped up from our seats. Things to Know Before You Go
- Your car will get dusty – all the dirt from the track seems to end up on your car!
- Bring a cushion! If you have a pillow, or any sort of padding bring it since you are sitting on bleachers.
- Grab some earplugs to help reduce the noise from the cars
- They have a concession stand and toilets available
- No alcohol – they check your bags!
